What can I expect in the first session?
The initial meeting, whether it's for individual or couple counselling, is a chance to see how we might feel working together. I invite you to share as much as you feel comfortable doing. I may ask you questions about your personal history and life experience so that I get a full picture of your situation. I will outline the practical issues that will be relevant if we continue to meet together and answer any questions you may have.
Weekly sessions are most likely to facilitate the therapeutic process and it is best if we can find a regular time. I am aware that this is not always possible and try to offer some flexibility. Some people choose to come for a set period of sessions to help get through a difficult patch whilst others may come for longer. The advantage of coming for longer is that it gives time to develop the therapeutic relationship making it easier to share deeper thoughts and feelings with the potential for greater and lasting change.
MY WORKING DAYS AND TIMES
I work Mondays between 10:30 and 8:30pm
Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 9am and 8:30pm
At times I can be available on Thursday mornings.
Initial sessions last up to one hour (for individuals) and all subsequent sessions last 50 minutes.
I offer both time limited arrangements where we agree together on a number of sessions at the beginning and can then review, as well as open-ended arrangements which allow for flexibility to have sessions for as long as it feels helpful.
I offer both daytime and evening sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 9:00 and 8:30pm (Mondays 10:30 and 8:30pm)
My last couple of appointment time in the evenings is 7pm.
Initial sessions last for 1 1/2 hours and all subsequent sessions last 1 1/4 hours.
As with individual work I am happy to arrange a specific number of sessions as well as working with couples for as long as it feels helpful.
I do ask clients to agree to my GDPR contract which clarifies the way I hold and collect data and personal information.
I work from a ground floor flat in a road off the Richmond Road in North Kingston, Close to Tudor Drive and Ham Parade. Bus routes 65 and 371 (Tudor Drive and Tiffin Girls School stops) are the closest to my address as is Kingston Mainline Station. There are no parking restrictions in the area but the roads around my premises can become very congested especially in the evenings.
Individual sessions: £60
Couple sessions: £95 - 110

I am happy to arrange a time to talk briefly and answer any questions you may have before making an appointment.
